GLENMORANGIE ANNOUNCES JUSTIN ROSE
AS NEW GLOBAL GOLF AMBASSADOR
HOLLYWOOD(Perfect Golf Today)4/25/16/– Glenmorangie is proud to announce Justin Rose as the brand’s new Golf Ambassador. Ranked #7 in the official world golf at the end of 2015, Rose embodies Glenmorangie’s spirit of going the great lengths to create its whisky, borne out of his dedication to performing on golf’s biggest stages. As such, he is considered the perfect golfer to join the Single Malt Scotch Whisky’s partnership with The Open Championship.
Glenmorangie, The Spirit of The Open, will feature Rose as the face of its campaign; he will appear in a series of brand films toasting a shared belief in the uncompromising pursuit of excellence, meticulous preparation and attention to detail. As the Glenmorangie Golf Ambassador, Rose will celebrate Glenmorangie’s ethos around the world, including scheduled appearances in the U.S. and U.K. in 2016.
“We are delighted to introduce Justin as an ambassador for Glenmorangie, The Spirit of The Open,” says Marc Hoellinger, President and CEO of The Glenmorangie Company. “Justin has inextricable links with The Open Championship, an event we have proudly partnered with for a number of years. A proven winner, Justin leaves no stone unturned in his quest to be the best. At Glenmorangie, it is a belief in being unnecessarily well made that drives the creation of our award winning whisky. There are a great deal of similarities in both our approaches and what we are trying to do in our respective fields.”
Rose has firmly cemented himself among golf’s elite with 19 worldwide titles, including 7 wins on the PGA Tour and 8 victories on the European Tour. He first came to prominence as a 17-year-old amateur with a fourth-place showing at the 1998 British Open, and has since won the 2013 U.S. Open, becoming the first Brit in 40 years to emerge victorious at one of golf’s toughest challenges. In addition, his remarkable finish at Royal Birkdale, holing his 50-yard approach from the rough on the 72nd hole, made him part of Open Championship folklore.
“It is an honor to forge a partnership with such an iconic malt whisky,” says 35-year-old Rose. “I am excited to be part of Glenmorangie’s plans to celebrate The Open Championship and what it stands for. Glenmorangie is a whisky I enjoy, and I appreciate the history, tradition and years of experience that go into crafting its unique flavor and finish.”

NOTES TO EDITORS:
Glenmorangie Single Malt Scotch Whisky originates in the Scottish Highlands where, at the Glenmorangie Distillery, it is distilled in the tallest malt whisky stills in Scotland, expertly matured in the finest oak casks, and perfected by the Men of Tain. The Distillery was founded in 1843 and is renowned as a pioneer in its field uniting tradition with innovation to create“unnecessarily well-made whiskies”.
The Open Golf Championship:
The Open is the oldest and most international championship in professional golf. Since 1860, it has been played over 14 of the world’s most revered links courses, many of which are in Scotland. Its trophy, the Claret Jug, which was first presented in 1873, is a sporting icon. This year (2016), The Open will be played at Royal Troon, Ayrshire from 12-17 July 2016.
Glenmorangie, Spirit of The Open Championship:
Glenmorangie has been a part of The Open since 2012, when a three-year partnership was signed with the tournament’s organiser, the R&A, establishing the single malt as the Official Whisky of The Open. After a successful first year, the partnership deepened and in 2013 and 2014, Glenmorangie became the Spirit of The Open Championship. A new three-year partnership is in place, up to and including 2017.
The Glenmorangie Company advocates responsible drinking and suggests that drinkers savour Glenmorangie whiskies in moderation and in line with recommended daily guidelines for alcohol consumption.
