Palm Springs (Perfect Golf Today)4/9/20– Jimmy Steinfeldt legendary photographer and long time golfer reviews the Ashdon Golf putter I replaced my favorite Ping putter with the Ashdon Golf putter designed by Ron Pritchett and have taken 5-10 strokes off my game.It’s simply the best putter I’ve ever used. Great weight and feel and it’s design is super for lining up a putt.

I especially like the instruction I was given on using the sunlight on the ball to determine where on the clubface to make contact. First of course I determine the line from ball to cup. Once I’ve determined the line I use sunlight to determine exactly where on the club face to strike the ball.

If the sunlight is in the center of the ball I strike the ball dead center on the clubface. If the sunlight is on the ball nearer to me I strike the ball part way between dead center and the toe of the club face. If the sunlight is on the ball farther from me I strike the ball between dead center and the heal of the clubface. Following this rule the ball usually rolls right into the cup. If there is no sunlight on the ball I have to use my ingenuity, but after a bit of practice I’ve become very good at this.

I had been using my Ping Darby i putter for years and was pretty happy with it. However after using the Ashdon putter for just the last 3 months I’ve taken 5 to 10 strokes off my game. I think the putter has even improved my overall game. I’ve been playing golf for decades and since I put the Ashdon in my bag I got my first ever hole in one!
